Mediation is a Good Option When Anger Issues Remain in Your Divorce

On Behalf of | Dec 13, 2019 | Mediation

Mediation is a good option when anger issues remain during your divorce.  There are often issues of resentment, bitterness and other negative emotions during the course of a North County or Carlsbad divorce.  While these may be obvious responses to the issues which lead to the end of a marriage, decisions taken in the midst of emotion are most often not in your best interest in the long term.

The Certified Family Law Specialists at Burke & Domercq, APC have represented clients before Carlsbad divorce and family law courts for decades.  We understand the diverse emotions which surface during the course of any divorce.  Part of our responsibility as “Counselors at Law” is to guide our clients through the emotional challenges of a divorce in addition to legal issues and the important decisions which must be made along the way.

Mediation is a good option when anger and other negative emotions are impacting a couple’s ability to work through all issues contained within the separation agreement.   In mediation, ground rules are established which ensure the parties and their representatives work in a non-conflict environment to find common ground and identify potential solutions which will resolve these emotional issues.

The mediator works to establish a productive environment for delicate conversations surrounding child custody and parenting time, child support, spousal support and other contentious issues in any divorce.

An effective mediator helps to alleviate these emotions and replace them with a clear understanding of the legal and practical issues at hand.  When parties are able to reach a negotiated settlement, through mediation or Burke & Domercq, APC’s effective negotiating strategies, the parties are much more likely to abide by those agreements after the divorce.

We invite you to review the recommendations of our clients and contact us or call 760-389-3927 to schedule an appointment. Learn more about the effective strategies for managing strong emotions in a divorce, and working through them to make decisions from a position of strength.
