What are the primary reasons for divorce in San Diego?  A new divorce case is filed every 13 seconds in the United States.  While the actual divorce rate is down, this is primarily due to a trend associated with millennials.  This age group typically takes longer to decide upon getting married, and their marriages are lasting longer than previous generations.

The average first marriage which results in a divorce lasts between seven and eight years.  Presently, 60% of all divorces involve those between the ages of 25 to 39.  However, there is an interesting surge in “Gray Divorces” which represent those over the age of 50 at the time of their divorce.
