The Promise of a New Year

On Behalf of | Dec 31, 2020 | Divorce

Burke & Domercq, APC sends best wishes to all of San Diego to all as we celebrate the last day of one of the hardest years of most of our lives while contemplating the promise of a new year.

2020 presented us with the greatest common challenge in our lifetimes – COVID-19.  The pandemic has disrupted every aspect of life as well as the health and vitality of San Diego and people around the world.

The losses of this year in terms of lives and medical challenges cannot be overstated.

Yet in this most challenging of afflictions, we have witnessed creativity, ingenuity and perseverance as we navigate the substantial impact of COVID-19 upon work and family life .  Even as we finish this year at the peak of the pandemic and with our medical facilities over-burdened to the point of breaking it is time to reflect on our accomplishments and resilience and the promise of a new year.

The bright hope of vaccination and a reduction in the illness and losses of COVID-19 are in sight.  The old cliché “in the darkest hour, there is a light of hope…” has never been more true for many of us.

What will 2021 hold for you?  New Year’s Day is often a time for new resolutions and decisions to move forward in a different direction. Many in San Diego have been considering the state of their relationships for several weeks or months.  The experience of pandemic life combined with the stress of the holidays will lead some to consider the end of a marriage.

The first step in this process is to accomplish some pre-planning while developing strategies to put yourself in the best position to accomplish your goals for the divorce.  You probably have a lot of questions and the experienced Certified Family Law Specialists at Burke & Domercq will provide sound advice and counsel.

What does the promise of a new year hold for you?  The beginning of the calendar year is the most common time for divorce filings historically.  If you are considering a divorce or have made the decision to move forward we invite you to review the strong recommendations of former clients and the legal industry and contact Burke & Domercq or call 760-389-3927 to schedule an appointment for a remote or socially distanced consultation with one of our experienced Certified Family Law Specialists.
