Why is the Divorce Rate in Oceanside So High?

On Behalf of | Oct 8, 2017 | Divorce

According to recent US Census Bureau data, the average rate of divorce in Oceanside for women is 13.2% compared to the average for the State of California which is 11%, while men in Oceanside averaged divorce in 9% of the surveys findings compared to 8% for men throughout the State of California.
Many experts point to Oceanside’s proximity to a large military base, and the impact military service has upon marriages. Military deployments will place a heavy burden on many marriages which can often lead to an increase in related divorces.
Other experts have weighed in on the improvement of employment opportunities for women, and the friction caused in some marriages when a wife’s earnings exceed her husband’s income. While one may rightfully question the findings, the concerns regarding the underlying Oceanside divorce numbers require further investigation.
